3…2….1…A checklist for Windows 10
Tomorrow Microsoft will officially release Windows 10.
Are you ready? By following this short checklist, you can make sure your upgrade will be smooth and fast.
- Backup or clone your previous configuration: Don't count on your good luck. Things can go South with Microsoft upgrades, so make sure you have a safety net, should you fall from the tightrope.
- Make a copy of your activation codes: should you lose them, you can have a backup.
- Create a secondary partition: If you want to play safe, you can install Windows 10 on a secondary partition and see what it looks like. Early adopters can always expect bugs and backwards compatibility issues. I will probably make this choice myself.
Are you ready?
We'll see what the final version looks like.
I don't have high hopes, as they're still fixing bugs right now, from what I read online.
UPDATE: I'm still waiting for a notification from Microsoft to start installing. I guess July, 29 was only an indicative date.
At this point, with App Store, I'd be already downloading it.
